The General Secretariat of Youth within the framework of executing the projects “Youth Entrepreneurship Support Structures” and “Entrepreneurship Observatory”, developed communication structures for entrepreneurs in all the regions of the country, as well as, a central observatory for entrepreneurship and coordination of the support structures in Athens.   

The support structures provide a series of consulting services to everyone who is interested while the observatory monitors entrepreneurship ratios on a national level, supervises the work of support structures and sets the operational axes.    

The success of the project “Youth Entrepreneurship Support Structure” relies greatly on the ability to monitor and coordinate the offered services, the degree of cooperation between the consultants of the support structures who are spread out in 13 regions of the country, in communicating to the general public the offered services, as well as, rendering reliable business information to the interested public.

These requirements developed a need for the creation of a complete information system which would be an essential operational tool both for the support structures and the central observatory.

Bee Group undertook the project and executed it through the development initially of a study for the application of the systems which analyzed as much the technical parts as it did the method which incorporated the systems in the operation of the support structures and the observatory. 

The information system which was developed included the following parts:

• Dynamic Website for the Youth Entrepreneurial Support Structures, which informed those interested of the services offered from the Support Structures and the way to come in contact with them
• Entrepreneurial portal which informed interested parties about a plethora of topics related to entrepreneurship
• Web based monitoring system of the activities of each support structure, which was used by the consultants and the central observatory
• Intranet which aided cooperation, exchange of material and information and the coordination of the work done by the consultants
• Distance learning system for training of consultants

All the systems are accessible for users through the Internet under a unified framework, while the wider public has access to the website of the support structures and the entrepreneurship gate through the web addresses www.thirides.gr and www.paratiritirio.gr accordingly.

The complete information system of the support structure and central observatory under a unified framework offered the users of the system the following:

• The consultants of the support structure have the ability from one place to register, monitor and check the effectiveness of their work, communicate and cooperate with each other, exchange material and ideas relative to their work, inform the website with informative material and get trained on issues which have to do with consulting services. 
• The users of the observatory have the ability to check the effectiveness of each support structure individually and cumulatively, to produce a series of statistical performance figures, update rates which concern entrepreneurship in the different regions of Greece, update the entrepreneurship portal, monitor the training undertaken by consultants and organize new training sessions.

The complete embodiment of the above systems in the daily operations of the support structures and the observatory has rendered them a basic and indispensable tool that increases productivity and improves operations.
